Why Sell Avon?

I often get asked by people “Why should I become a Representative?” when I share the Avon opportunity. I think we all have our own reasons for making this decision, but below are a few reasons I think Avon is a great company to work for and some of why I started my own Avon business. Two Ways to Earn, Two Ways To Sell

There are two ways to earn money as a Representative: by selling products or—through the Sales Leadership program—by selling products while recruiting others. The higher a Representative’s campaign (selling cycle) sales are, the greater the percentage she will earn on those sales. Sales Leaders, Representatives who both sell and recruit, earn money based on their personal sales plus their recruits’ sales, with a similar progressive earnings structure applied.

What is Direct Selling?

Direct selling is a type of sales channel where products are marketed directly to customers, eliminating the need for middlemen – wholesalers, advertisers and retailers. Direct selling can be conducted one-on-one, in a group or party format, or online. At Avon, the “direct” part of direct selling also refers to the personal component of this sales channel; it’s about building relationships with people and offering them a high level of service, great products, and personal attention.

Earnings Opportunity

Avon wants Representatives to succeed by offering a no-barrier earnings opportunity to support themselves and their families. Each Representative is supported in her efforts to achieve success and empower her to be self-sufficient by earning an income. Avon’s direct-selling model offers a low start-up cost, a wide range of training and development opportunities, management support, and digital direct selling tools that enable Representatives to manage and grow their businesses as never before.

All it takes to become a Representative and launch a business is the nominal cost of a Start Up Kit. Each kit includes everything needed to begin your business including brochures, samples, free products, bags, support, and a free eStore. There are three kits for new Representatives to select from:

Once appointed, a Representative has flexibility over her schedule and is her own boss, setting the parameters and goals for her business. For some Representatives, selling Avon is a full-time business. Others sell Avon to supplement income from a full-time job, or for a set period of time to achieve a certain financial goal, such as a child’s college tuition or a family vacation. Depending upon the level of sales, the earnings of a Representative range from 20% up to 50%. Other perks of being a Representative include opportunities to win free trips, free merchandise, cash bonuses, guaranteed minimum 20% commission on products sold, free training and support, free eStore so customers can shop online on your website, and the ability to work anywhere, anytime, and as much or as little as you choose.

When a person signs up as a new Representative, they are given a credit rating as non-credit-eligible or credit-eligible. Non-credit-eligible Representatives must pay the full cost of their order when it is placed and may decide to have customers make at least a partial payment at the time the order is taken. Non-credit-eligible Representatives will be reviewed after 7 campaigns and may then be granted a campaign credit limit. Credit-eligible Representatives pay Avon the price of the order less the amount of the credit limit. For example, if a Representative places an order totaling $400 and has a $200 credit limit, she must pay $200 at the time the order is placed. Our business model enables many women, who otherwise might not have access to credit, to pursue and attain their personal financial goals.

Training for Success

Avon is one of the world’s largest direct sellers, but it’s still all about relationships and social connections. The company wants to help you achieve your goals. So Avon’s field management, as well as your fellow Representatives, provide mentoring, training and support every step of the way. With Avon, you are in business for yourself but not by yourself. Avon U is a free training platform all Representatives have access to as soon as they sign up. It provides a variety of formats for Representatives to learn how to start, grow, and expand their business, as well as training on how to grow their team and become a Sales Leader.

Digital Tools

Avon offers many digital tools—on the Internet, social media and mobile technology—that enhance Representatives’ reach, productivity, and earnings. Representatives businesses can integrate seamlessly with the way people today connect, share and shop, and create communities, through our new multi-channel selling tools such as:

• Customized social media environments for Representatives to reach customers and other Representatives.
• Avon-branded networking sites for Representatives, their customers, and sales leaders. These sites enable users to interact to share their love of beauty, as well as connect with each other. Representatives also receive peer-to-peer support on the sites.
